Classes

Baby Ballet (ages 2 - 3)

This class is for our youngest and tiniest dancers! It teaches basic movement skills, concepts, and dynamics through song, play, and games. Baby dancers will achieve better balance, coordination, and strength as well as an understanding of the classroom atmosphere, socializing, and sharing with others. Parent/Guardian required to take class with student.


Pre-Ballet & Creative Dance (ages 3 - 4)

This class is perfect for the new tiny dancer!  It focuses both on exploratory movement and beginning ballet steps and will help your child achieve many strong skills such as: balance, coordination, awareness of body parts, communication, socialization, and classroom etiquette. Learning is encouraged through use of songs, rhymes, games, and dance props. 


Preschool Combo Ballet & Tap (ages 3 - 4)

This class is perfect for the new tiny dancer!  It focuses  beginning ballet steps and tap steps and will help your child achieve many strong skills such as: balance, coordination, awareness of body parts, musicality, communication, socialization, and classroom etiquette. Learning is encouraged through use of songs, rhymes, games, and dance props. 


Mini Hip Hop (ages 4 - 6)

This class teaches young movers and shakers basic dance steps and hip hop style to popular kid friendly hip hop dance music!  Students will learn skills such as: balance, coordination, awareness of body parts, musicality, communication, socialization, and classroom etiquette.


Kinder Combo Ballet & Tap Dance (ages 5-6)

This class if for new young dancers with one year or less of dance and movement experience. It is designed to introduce both beginner ballet and tap steps in a fun, energizing, and challenging environment. The combination class is a perfect way to introduce more than one form of dance while still providing quality instruction. After one year in the combination class students are encouraged to pursue full length classes of each technique.

This class is for new young dancers with one year or less of dance and movement experience.  It is designed to introduce both beginner ballet and jazz steps in a fun, energizing, and challenging environment. Mini Hip Hop (ages 4 - 6) & Elementary Hip Hop (ages 7 - 9)

In this class students focus on building a foundation in musicality, hip hop style, and grooves. A typical class starts with stretching, 15 minutes of across the floor, 15 minutes of choreography and the last 5-10 minutes tying all of the class concepts together. Although there are many things that they will learn, our focus is to teach students at this age is to have fun while they dance as a healthy means of physical activity and developing a skill set they will be able to use in the future!


Elementary Jazz & Tap Dance (age 7 - 9)
This class is for new young dancers with one year or less of dance and movement experience. It is designed to introduce both beginner jazz and tap steps in a fun, energizing, and challenging environment for 7 - 9 year old students. The combination class is a perfect way to introduce more than one form of dance while still providing quality instruction.  After one year in the combination class students are encouraged to pursue full length classes of each technique.


Elementary Ballet (age 7 - 9, or placement)

This class is for dancers that have already taken a combination class or have had one year or more of Ballet.  It will focus on a strong ballet foundation, understanding both beginner ballet steps and ballet vocabulary.  Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.


Elementary Jazz (age 7 - 9, or placement)

This class is for dancers that have already taken a combination class or have had one year or more of Jazz.  It will focus on a strong jazz foundation, understanding both beginner jazz steps and jazz vocabulary. Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.


Elementary Tap (age 7 - 9, or placement)

This class is for dancers that have already taken a combination class or have had one year or more of Tap.  It will focus on a strong tap foundation, understanding both beginner tap steps and tap vocabulary. Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.


Gym & Jazz (age 5 - 9)

Gym and jazz combines classical jazz dance technique with acrobatic elements. This class is for those students who want to improve flexibility, balance and beginning tumbling. Young tumblers will learn how to move and bend their body in a fun and exciting way, and to integrate those skills with jazz dance.


Ballet 1 (ages 10 & up)

This class is for dancers with 0 - 2 years of dance, age 10 & up looking to study classical ballet technique. Students will learn a wide range of ballet vocabulary and dance steps. Strength, flexibility, balance, movement coordination and agility, as well as fluidity and style will be taught. Younger dancers may be placed in this class with instructor placement if they are above the elementary level offered.

This class is for dancers that have had one year or more of ballet technique. Students will learn a wide range of ballet vocabulary and dance steps. Strength, flexibility, balance, movement coordination and agility, as well as fluidity and style will be taught. Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.

Jazz/Lyrical  1 (ages 10 & up)

This class is for dancers with 0 - 2 years of dance, age 10 & up looking to study classical jazz technique. Jazz dance utilizes sharp percussive movements and is a highly energetic and athletic form of dance. The class teaches jazz concepts such as isolations, progressions across the floor, leaps, and turns to popular music forms. Younger dancers may be placed in this class with instructor placement if they are above the elementary level offered.


Jazz/Lyrical 2 (ages 10 & up or placement)

This class is for dancers that have had 1 - 3 years or more of jazz technique. Students will learn a wide range of jazz vocabulary and dance steps. The class teaches jazz concepts such as isolations, progressions across the floor, leaps, and turns to popular music forms. Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.


Tap 1 (ages 10 & up)

Tap is a great class for students wanting to learn rhythm and move their feet! The class will focus on beginner tap steps and music concepts such as beat, even and syncopated rhythms, and musicality. Younger dancers may be placed in this class with instructor placement if they are above the elementary level offered.


Tap 2 (ages 10 & up, or placement)

This class is for dancers that have had one year or more of tap technique. Students will learn a wide range of tap vocabulary and dance steps. Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.


Tap 3 (ages 10 & up, or placement)
This class is for dancers that have had at least 3 years or more of tap technique. Students will learn a wide range of tap vocabulary and dance steps. Dancers may be placed in to this class or moved out depending on level.


Adult Ballet (adult drop-in)
Focusing on foundational ballet skills, strengthening and developing muscle flexibility and tone, the class teaches ballet technique through contemporary methods and music. It is geared for beginner and intermediate adult students.  It is also a great form of exercise that stimulates both the body and mind.


Ballet 3 (ages 14 & up, or placement, Thursday class adult drop-in)
This class is for dancers age 14 & up with at least 3 or more years of ballet. Ballet steps and class design will reflect that of an intermediate ballet class.  Students can expect to enhance their strength, flexibility, balance, movement coordination and agility, as well as fluidity and style.  Adults welcome only during Fall semester.


Jazz/Lyrical 3 (ages 14 & up, or placement)

This class is for dancers with previous dance experience of at least 3 years that are at an intermediate level of dance. Jazz dance utilizes sharp percussive movements and is a highly energetic and athletic form of dance. The class teaches jazz technique, isolations, progressions across the floor, leaps, and turns, and jazz dance combinations to popular music forms. This class will move at a quick pace and teach several different styles of jazz and lyrical dance. Adults welcome during Fall semester.

Adult Tap *Int (adult drop-in)

This class is for students with previous tap experience. It moves quickly, but will still focus on basic tap steps and music concepts such as beat, even and syncopated rhythms, and musicality. Students will learn more traveling tap steps and combinations than in a beginner tap class. Adults welcome. This is a technique only class, no recital.


Modern/Contemporary 1 (age10 & up, adult drop-in)
This class teaches modern and contemporary dance technique at a beginner level. Modern techniques such as Limon, Horton, and Graham, combined with the instructors unique contemporary style are taught through center work and across the floor combinations. Each dancer is given organic movement and concepts to dance as true to his or herself as she or he can, promoting a sense of individualism and strength.  Adults welcome.

This class is designed to specifically enhance a dancer's flexibilty, strength, control, leaps, and turns. Dancers at the beginner and intermediate level who are a part of a team, competitive group, or school drill team will find this class to be very beneficial for their competitive sport as it will help them develop the tools they need to compete and dance at an advanced level. The class begins with a technical warm-up that leads to turn sequences, and across the floor combinations with both leaps and turns. This is a technique only class, no recital.


Leaps & Turns 2/3 (age 10 & up, adult drop-in)

Acro 1/2 (age 7 & up)
This is for dancers with 1 year or more of Acro or Gymnastics experience.  This class is for those students who want to improve flexibility, balance, and acrobatic steps such as cartwheels, handstands, handsprings, tuck rolls, walkovers, aerials, etc. Also recommended for anyone who may have interest in cheer-leading! Adults welcome. This is a technique only class, no recital.


Acro 3 (age 10 & up)

This is for dancers with 2 years or more of Acro or Gymnastics experience.  Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements. This class is for those students who want to improve flexibility, balance, and acrobatic steps such as walkovers, aerials, back handsprings, tuck jumps, etc. Also recommended for anyone who may have interest in cheer-leading! Adults welcome. This is a technique only class, no recital.


Adult Hip Hop *Beg (adult drop-in)
This class is designed for beginner adult students looking to learn hip hop dance style.  It will teach basic dance steps, hip hop grooves and movements across the floor and in center, as well as popping and locking.  Adults welcome.  * CURRENTLY NOT OFFERED AS AN ON-GOING CLASS. CHECK THE ADULTS CLASSES TAB TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY UPCOMING SESSIONS.
